When it comes to unforgettable wedding days, Samantha and Thomas’s celebration at The Villa at Ridder Country Club proves that love truly shines—rain or shine. I’ve seen many beautiful days, but this one stood out for all of the right reasons: genuine emotion, joyful surprises, and a setting that radiated elegance from start to finish.


The day began in scenic Plymouth, Massachusetts, where Samantha and her bridesmaids spent the morning laughing, sipping champagne, and sharing sweet moments before the ceremony. The matching pajamas, big smiles, and energy in the room set the tone for the day. These moments are always a dream to capture; when the bride is surrounded by her closest friends and family and the air is filled with excitement.


After getting ready, we then made our way over to the beautiful venue, The Villa at Ridder Country Club. One of the most touching moments of the day was Samantha’s first look with her father. As a wedding photographer, these moments are everything. The raw emotion, the proud tears—it’s what storytelling through photography is all about. I was definitely in tears behind the camera.


Though the rain altered the original outdoor plans, the ceremony was moved inside to The Grand Ballroom at The Villa. With its stately chandeliers and romantic ambiance, the ballroom offered the perfect backdrop for an intimate and emotional ceremony. Just before walking down the aisle, Samantha surprised Thomas, and everyone else, with a heartfelt pre-recorded message. It was a moment that perfectly reflected their deep connection and brought tears to more than a few eyes.


Even with the rain, we found a magical spot for portraits under the covered entrance of The Villa. With its soft, diffused light and stunning architecture, it gave off European vibes that made the photos feel straight out of a destination wedding. These images quickly became some of my favorites from the day.


Samantha and Thomas are huge golf fans (their wedding even occurred during The Masters Tournament), so they couldn’t resist sprinkling in a few playful golf-themed wedding details, a fun nod to their personalities that guests loved. Samantha, who owns two tea and protein-shake shops, was also surprised by her co-workers who arrived wearing custom matching sweatshirts. It was such a sweet gesture that highlighted the love and support that surrounded the couple all day long.


The reception was filled with energy, love, heartfelt words, and lots of dancing. Speeches from friends and family added another layer to the love story of Samantha and Thomas. In one of the most emotional gestures of the night, Samantha dedicated her bouquet to her mother and it was an incredibly special moment. After that, the night kicked into high gear. The dance floor came alive with laughter and celebration.


Samantha and Thomas’s wedding day will forever be one I hold close to my heart. It was filled with happy tears, meaningful surprises, and so much love. Samantha and Thomas truly embraced the rain and did not let anything ruin their special day.
