Late September gave us the most perfect weather for Sarah and Jake’s stunning wedding day in Plymouth, MA. From the moment I arrived, I knew this day was going to be something special. Sarah & Jake decided to privately get married the year prior and their wedding celebration with family and friends actually took place on their one-year anniversary! Sarah and Jake’s love for each other, their families, and their friends filled every moment with meaning, joy, and a whole lot of emotion (happy tears all day long!).
Both Sarah and Jake got ready in homes just a short drive away from their gorgeous venue. I always love when couples get ready close to where everything’s happening. It keeps the vibe relaxed and allows for more meaningful moments (plus, less travel stress!). Their mornings were filled with laughter and the kind of quiet excitement that builds as the big moment approaches.
The couple chose to do a first look in the garden on the property. The setting was intimate and full of late summer blooms. Seeing each other for the first time, just the two of them, gave them a chance to take a breath and really soak in what the day was all about. They exchanged heartfelt vows in the garden and let’s just say there wasn’t a dry eye around. There were laughs, there were tears, and every second felt real, emotional, and totally unforgettable.
After some fun group formal photos, guests gathered for the ceremony, seated with a stunning waterfront view as their backdrop. Sarah and Jake said “I do” surrounded by all their favorite people.
Right after the ceremony, we took some couple portraits on the dock and under a large tree where the sunlight peeked perfectly through the leaves. These quiet moments with just the two of them taking it all in created some of my favorite images from the day.
From there, the energy picked up! Sarah and Jake joined cocktail hour and mingled with their guests. One sweet highlight: they snuck up to the loft of the carriage house to get a bird’s eye view of their guests enjoying the evening!
As the sun set, the celebration moved under the tent where they shared their first dance, a heartfelt welcome toast, and a beautiful dinner filled with meaningful speeches. The parent dances brought out all the feels — especially a touching mother-daughter dance that had everyone reaching for tissues. Once dessert was served, the open dance floor officially kicked off and let’s just say this crew knew how to celebrate. The night ended with so much laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories.
