We decided to do Kathleen and David's engagement photos right at the lake where they live, and I knew right away it was going to be something special. There’s something so intimate and meaningful about documenting love in a space that already holds so many memories and this session was full of them.


From the start, it felt less like a photoshoot and more like a celebration of who they are. We blared Taylor Swift on the speaker and ran barefoot through the sand, danced along the shore, and chased the golden light across the dock. It was carefree, playful, and full of laughter, exactly the way love should feel.


Kathleen and David were completely up for anything! One of my favorite parts of the engagement session was when they ran into the lake fully clothed at the end. Yep, they even ran hand in hand down the dock and jumped into the water without hesitation and it was pure magic. Those photos are some of the most cinematic and real moments I’ve ever captured.


What I love about sessions like this is how personal they are. You don’t need a fancy venue or elaborate setup to make your engagement photos unforgettable. Sometimes, the best backdrop is the one that already feels like home—your backyard, the lake you swim in every summer, the place you’ve built your life together.


Kathleen and David’s session was a reminder that your engagement photos should be you. Wild, cozy, romantic, spontaneous, whatever you want it to be. Whether we’re running through the waves, slow dancing in your kitchen, or jumping into the water at sunset, I’m here for it.
